Scotland v Brazil betting form

Both Scotland and Brazil have made positive starts to their World Cup campaigns and look well placed to progress to the knockout stages. Scotland opened the tournament with a narrow 1-0 victory over Haiti before falling to a 1-0 defeat against Morocco in their second match, although many supporters felt they were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty following a challenge on John McGinn.

Brazil began their campaign with an underwhelming 1-1 draw against Morocco but responded impressively in their second outing, securing a comfortable 3-0 win over Haiti.

With qualification to the knockout stages looking all but secured for both teams, attention now turns to finishing as high up the group as possible. A strong result here could prove crucial in securing a more favourable route through the later stages of the tournament.

What are the best odds on Scotland v Brazil?

Brazil are the favourites to get all three points in this fixture, priced at 4/11 to get all on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (4/11 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) with Scotland priced at 11/2 (5/1 on the 2 Up early payout market) and the draw at 17/4.

The last time these two sides met at a FIFA World Cup was back in 1998 with Brazil winning 2-1. A repeat of that scoreline this time round is priced at 8/1.

Alternatively, if you’re expecting Brazil to win and Scotland to get on the scoresheet without picking an exact result, Brazil To Win + BTTS is available at 12/5.

Scotland v Brazil football spread betting prices.

Our football spread betting prices have Brazil as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Brazil/Scotland (h) 1.4 – 1.6. This means a 'buy' bet at 1.6 would need a Brazil two goal win to start turning a profit (e.g. two goal win would win 0.4x your stake, three goal win would win 1.4x your stake etc.).

A 1.4 'sell' bet would need a one goal Brazil win, draw or Scotland win to turn a profit (e.g. one goal Brazil win would win 0.4x your stake, draw would win 1.4x your stake and a one goal Scotland win would win 2.4x your stake etc.).

Our spread betting Total Goals line is 2.7 – 2.9. So a 2.9 'buy' bet would need at least three goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘2.7’ sell bet would need two goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.

Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 2.9 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 2.9x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 1.6 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, a one goal Brazil win would lose 0.6x your stake,  a draw would lose 1.6x your stake and a one goal Scotland win would lose 2.6x your stake etc. And in the 1.4 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.6x your stake on a two goal Brazil win, 1.6x your stake on a three goal Brazil win etc.

Scotland v Brazil betting specials and price boosts

Price Boosts are typically available on the Spreadex website the day before the game, so it’s worth checking back closer to kick-off for enhanced odds. In addition, Spreadex also features ‘Popular Bet-Builders’, specially curated by their in-house pricing team to highlight fan-favourite betting combinations.

In the last World Cup meeting between the two sides Brazil ran out 2-1 winners with Carlos Cesar Sampaio scoring the opening goal in the 5th minute. This meant the spread betting market First Match Goal made up at just 5. This time round the spread is 34-37, meaning a ‘sell’ at 34 would win 29x your stake if there were a repeat of an opening goal in the 5th minute

Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. So for example if the First Match Goal market made up at 60, a ‘sell’ at 34 would lose 26x times your stake.
