SUNRISERS LEEDS v WELSH FIRE – SUN/WEL SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -4)

The business end of The Hundred season is upon us, and Sunrisers Leeds took a huge step forward in their search of postseason cricket with a thumping win over Welsh Fire at Headingley yesterday.

Opening duo Mitch Marsh and Ryan Rickelton put on a partnership of 89 runs and they were backed up by a quickfire 23 from Harry Brook and an impressive knock of 34 off 12 deliveries from captain Zak Crawley.

Chasing a score of 202 to win, Welsh Fire’s chance of winning went up in flames early on in the innings as Phil Salt departed for just 13 runs between them. Joe Root and Matt Short were the only men to hit a decent score, as Brydon Carse finished with three wickets for the home side.

Such a crushing win was great news for those who had sided with Leeds in the Supremacy spread which was 3-11 in their favour before play began. A 71-run for the Headingley outfit saw they spread settle at 71 as buyers won 60x their stake.

HARROGATE TOWN v SOLIHULL MOORS – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 519)

The National League commenced on Saturday, and Harrogate Town started life back in the fifth tier, with a five-star win over visitors Solihull Moors.

Despite there being seven goals in the match, it took until the 44th minute for Archie Baptiste to open the scoring as he fired the hosts in front. Former England Under 20 international Bryn Morris doubled Town’s lead, before Jacob Wakeling pulled one back in the 71st minute. Tommy French sparked scenes of jubilation in the Solihull away end when he levelled in the 82nd minute, but their joy was short lived.

Just two minutes later, Ciaran McGuckin put Harrogate back in front and he added a second in the 90th minute. Buyers on Total Goal Minutes at 136-146 were already in clover at this point, but they would have been punching the air when Rohan Vaughan added Harrogate’s fifth in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

That left Total Goal Minutes to settle at 519 as buyers won 373x their stake.

HAYDOCK 8TH AUGUST – STARTING PRICES (SETTLED AT 101)

Punters flocked to Haydock where the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes was the main attraction on a scorching Saturday. Roger Varian’s Sallall was sent off the 1/2 favourite for the main event and the gelding secured his third successive win, despite stepping up to Group company for the first time in his career.

Whilst that was a short price winner, there was a shock in the first when Lc Tiffen landed the Leigh Handicap with a starting price of 80/1. Molly Gunn’s mount had gone as big as 100/1 in the betting, but did enough to touch off Saxophonist by a neck to land the spoils.

For spread bettors who had bought Starting Prices at 35-38 before racing began, it was a great start. Wins for Calendar Girl at 13/2 and Norcross Brow at 4/1 also added valuable points to the spread, which settled at 101, with buyers winning 63x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
